Courses
We’re excited to run two coffee courses for coffee lovers out there!
Deepen your love of coffee in a relaxed, immersive session, featuring the journey from coffee growing through to drinking a beautiful cup.
The Six of One Roastery is a coffee lover's dream, a space that will engage your senses and take you on a journey of coffee from crop to cup.
Learn about coffee growing regions and the various characteristics each region contributes.
Discover the art of roasting and blending and how this works with our crop to cup philosophy. We will roast a batch of coffee – you will be an assistant roaster for the day, helping the roaster in a hands-on way as we explore the variables around roasting.
We will also identify the key variables that affect the taste of your coffee, and taste coffee brewed in all different ways.
You will then pause to enjoy a two course lunch, with an emphasis on fresh Darling Downs produce, with wine and a couple of surprises.
We then move on to making you a better home barista, including correct dosing, tamping and grinder adjustments, de-mystifying coffee recipes, coffee extraction - the signs you are looking for to know you are extracting your espresso correctly and texturing silky smooth milk of the correct temperature. Basically, making a way better coffee!
You will have hands on time on an espresso machine, including our beautiful pink Synesso, the Ferrari of commercial espresso machines!
This is the ultimate coffee and food lover’s day! And you get to take home a bag of the coffee that you helped roast!
